Hailing from an island cut off from the outside world by surrounding whirlpools, Akaza is the young director and archivist of the Kotowari, an organization that manages all information relating to the island itself and its residents. Occasionally, items and people both from past and present-day wash up on the island's shores, owing to them many of the island's advancements (and lack thereof) in technology. Generally, it seems to conform to late-1800s - early-1900s Japan as those in the military are typically outfitted with swords over firearms.
The story of Olympia Soirée revolves around the island's extensive caste system, where its residents are separated by colour tiers according to their hair and eye colour. Belonging to the uppermost class as well as by being in a position of power, Akaza seeks to reform the system, often openly critical of its flaws.
Despite being known as "The Iron Mask," he's actually quite well-liked by his peers and colleagues, and appears more straight-laced than he is in practice, regularly catching people by surprise with his sociability and flat sense of humour. Fond of people who are willful and not above using his status for relatively harmless personal gains, he might be a workaholic but he knows when to take a break too… maybe.

Akaza, each and every time he blatantly disregards rules and gets away with it: y'all hear something?As far as powers go, Akaza is as ordinary as ordinary can be. He is, notably, a fake megane character though and only wears his glasses when he's working. Since he seems to care a fair bit about his appearance (his unruly hair is a complex), the theory is that it's more for his image than any real functional purpose since he never seems to struggle with them off. So, the rule of thumb is to not take him too seriously. Or do. He enjoys teasing his friends.
